Campaign Story

Caleb and I were married on October 19, 2019, after a four-year engagement. From
the beginning, we knew we wanted to start a family right away. We had already built
a strong foundation—years of love, a home of our own, reliable vehicles, and steady
careers. We felt ready, both emotionally and financially, to welcome a child into our
lives.
What we didn’t anticipate was the long and painful road that lay ahead.
Over the past five years, our journey to grow our family has been filled with
heartbreak, loss, and unimaginable challenges. We’ve endured four miscarriages—
each one devastating—in May 2020, April 2021, March 2023, and most recently,
June 2025. Along the way, I’ve undergone numerous medical procedures, including
three hysteroscopies, a D&C, gallbladder removal, and a partial nephrectomy to
remove a cancerous tumor from my right kidney. Each of these moments brought
physical pain, emotional exhaustion, and long stretches of uncertainty as we waited
and wondered if having children would ever be possible for us.
We pursued genetic testing to ensure we wouldn’t pass on cancer risks to future
children. We grieved, questioned our faith, and leaned heavily on each other.
Despite the trials, our marriage has become stronger in ways we never imagined—
bonded through resilience, love, and shared hope.
In 2023, we made the difficult decision to stop seeking medical interventions. The
toll—financial, emotional, and psychological—had become overwhelming.
Treatments were costing us thousands each month, which is difficult to manage in
our rural Missouri community where public service salaries simply don’t stretch far
enough to cover those expenses.
We even opened our home to foster children, hoping to share our love and care, but
that too brought heartbreak. After many late-night talks, tears, and therapy
sessions, we’ve found ourselves ready once again to pursue medical treatment—
starting with IUI, and potentially IVF if needed.
These treatments are expensive, and making this decision has not been easy. But we
are hopeful. Financial assistance would mean the world to us. It would ease the
burden and allow us to focus on what truly matters—bringing a child into our lives
and giving them the love we’ve been saving for so long.
